— Our Promise

James Beecroft

Creative Director

"James Beecroft graduated with a BA Honours degree in Product Design from Leeds Beckett University. As a practical student with a background in resistant materials and electrical design, during times when workshops were closed due to Covid-19, James adapted his design methods throughout his degree to specialize in digital design using 3D printing and laser cutting alongside 3D software. This thirst for new knowledge and expansion in skills is forever the drive behind James, while never venturing too far from his core beliefs.

Growing up in a family of landscape specialists and garden designers, James always spent hours outside working with plants. Alongside a small croft where he cared for and grew up with a range of animals from lambs to bees, these experiences drove his passion for nature and the use of flora and fauna in our lives. Using a combination of his plant knowledge, design process, and additional research, James worked on the right-to-breathe briefing with the Royal Society of Arts. Designing new plant-based material using industry waste that would filter plastic particles from the air we breathe, this was the first major step in his mission to clean the inevitable air pollution we make and breathe.

After his opening into a world where his designs and knowledge could be used to create a future for his family, James co-founded Boxplanted with like-minded and enthusiastic Helen Haworth. Their goal is to educate the next generation of young minds while cleaning the air they breathe, improving both their physical and arguably more important mental health."

Helen Haworth

Creative Director

"Helen Haworth graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class BA Honours degree in Fashion Promotion with Design Studies. Being thrust into the fast-paced, ever-changing retail sector—working for leading corporate companies—Helen was quick to adapt to the demands this industry imposed on her. Gaining knowledge and expertise through drive and commitment, Helen successfully progressed up the corporate ladder while enjoying the buzz of city life.

Yearning for a greener, healthier lifestyle, Helen moved to the Ribble Valley where her love of flowers, plants, and all things green led her to the world of floristry and horticulture. This allowed her to expand her creative abilities through floral designs while gaining a thorough understanding of the benefits nature has to offer.

Helen’s creative passion and enthusiasm to use nature, not only for aesthetic purposes but also as a means to create a healthier lifestyle, led her to become the creative director and co-founder of Boxplanted. Alongside James Beecroft, a like-minded individual who shares the same beliefs, they use the power of plants to create cleaner air and improve health.

Having a love for the great outdoors, Helen and her family spend much of their spare time walking in the Lake District with their crazy, over-energetic dog, Teddy. With two young boys of her own and living at a time when the effects of climate change have never been more prevalent, Helen has made it her mission to use the benefits of nature to improve the physical and mental well-being of our future generation."
